Vowel is an iPhone app that helps expecting parents find their baby’s name, with real birth records and Aurora, an AI naming consultant. This site is its public face: name pages, trends and tools built from the same data.

Martin Heuillon
Founder & CEO
Martin started Vowel to give every family what a good naming consultant gives: a method, a reason for each name and help deciding.
He leads product, engineering and data: the iPhone app, the naming engine built on more than a century of official birth records, and this website.
Where Vowel is today
vowel.name has been live since October 2026 in English and French, with more than 10,000 names and their histories from the SSA (United States, since 1880) and INSEE (France, since 1900).
The iPhone app is in testing and launches in France first, then in English.
