Aurora’s written answers in Vowel

She starts from your list

Ask her about a name you love, one you’re unsure of, or which of your finalists to look at again. She knows your list and your rules, so you begin from where you are, not from zero.

Her answers come in writing. You can reread them, and show them to your partner.

Three spoken consultations

Beyond written answers, Aurora holds three spoken sessions with you, the way a consultant would: a first interview, a review of your Brief and the decision. She prepares an agenda for each and writes notes after.

A suggestion always comes with its reason

When Aurora suggests a name, she says why. You can judge the reasoning, not just the name.

Then check it the way you check any name: for names in the catalog, the page shows it with your surname, the initials, its curve through the years and official statistics.

Aurora’s pick, between your finalists

Aurora’s pick is one of the tools for settling it once you have finalists, next to side by side and a coin flip. It is an opinion to react to. If you find yourself disagreeing with it, that tells you something too.

She writes your Brief

Aurora writes your Brief: a document for your family with what she heard, your style, a verdict on your list, fresh names each with a reason, and a chapter for each finalist.

Good to know

  • Aurora is an AI, not a person. The app tells you so before you start.
  • She runs on AI models from third-party providers, which receive what you share with her so she can reply.
  • Origins and meanings in the app were prepared with the help of an AI: a starting point, not a verdict.

Questions

Is Aurora a real person?

No. Aurora is an artificial intelligence, and the app tells you so before you start.

What does she know about me?

Your list and your rules, and whatever you tell her in your questions. That is what she uses to answer and to suggest names.

Who receives what I write to her?

She runs on AI models from third-party providers, which receive what you share with her so she can reply. There are no ads, and your data syncs to your iCloud account.

Is she a replacement for a human naming consultant?

No, and she doesn’t pretend to be one. She is an AI you can ask at any hour. If you want a person to talk to, a human consultant is a different service: see the comparison.

Can I ask her as much as I like?

In the first 3 days, everything is unlocked except the full Brief. After that, the free version lets you write her 5 questions a day.
