Together, in the Vowel app
Name your baby together, on two iPhones
Each of you chooses on your own iPhone, at your own pace. Vowel brings your two tastes together, shows only the names you both love and takes you to one name you seal together. What you pass on stays yours.

Invite your partner
In Family › Together, type your partner’s first name and send the invitation in Messages. When they open it, Vowel links your two iPhones and the names you both love start to appear.
Each of you keeps your own iPhone and your own iCloud account. No account to create, no password to share.

A deck that knows you are two
Once you are linked, your deck mixes in some of the names your partner loves, without saying whose they are, and names chosen for both your tastes at once. None of them ever breaks your own rules or your list of names that are out.
Your partner’s taste is used to rank names for you. It is never shown to you and never sent to the AI.

It’s a match
The names you both love meet in Together, revealed one at a time. Spellings count as one name: if you love Raphaël and your partner loves Rafael, that is a match, and each of you sees your own spelling.
Can’t wait? Send a match to the grandparents.

Champion a name
One name you can’t let go of? Champion it, with a note about why. Your partner answers I love it too, Tell me more, I’m open to it or Not for us, so a name that matters gets a real second look instead of a silent no.

Decide together
Your finalists come from your matches and the names you champion. Each of you can spend a day with a finalist, and the other sees how it felt (“Sam, after a day with it: warmer”).
Before the decision, each of you seals a private preference. With the consultations, the decision session with Aurora opens both. Then you seal the name together: one of you proposes, the other confirms. Changing your mind later takes both of you too.

What your partner sees, and what stays yours
- Shared: the names you both love, the names either of you champions, your finalists and the final name, your couple’s Brief, the notes of the sessions you hold together and your shared family file.
- Shared only if you choose: the summary of your own first interview with Aurora.
- Never shared: your maybes and your no’s, the names you let go, your own sort, your rules and your list of names that are out, your private stories and the full notes of your own interview.
- Each of you also gets private pages next to the Brief, about your own taste and your own list.

Questions
Do we both need the app?
Yes. Each of you uses your own iPhone, signed in to iCloud, and the invitation in Messages links them.
Can my partner see the names I said no to?
No. Your maybes, your no’s and the names you let go never leave your phone. Only the names you both love meet.
Do we both have to pay?
No. One purchase on either iPhone unlocks the same plan on both.
What if we don’t speak the same language?
Each of you uses Vowel in your own language. Shared texts are translated, and you choose the language of a joint session when it starts.
How many matches can I see for free?
For 3 days after the first questions everything is unlocked, apart from the full Brief. After that the free version reveals 2 matches; The One reveals them all.
What if we stop sharing?
Either of you can stop at any time. Each keeps a read-only copy of your joint notes and the last Brief; everything else of the other’s leaves your phone.
Can I use Vowel on my own?
Yes. Everything works the same when you choose alone, and you can invite your partner later.
